Speechless...

Well, not really, but it sounded good! Those who know me, know I'm rarely speechless ;)

So, since the last post a lot has happened.

We went to inspect the shed progress on Easter Saturday, and found the roof had been completed. Insanely fast progress given the timbers were only finished on the Thursday!

The electricians and plumbers came in and did their first fix, and the plasterers followed not too long after. As of this afternoon, we have roughly 65% of the house completed in white set. Its really starting to look like a big house now, and I love it!

The husband is also happy as he has his shed, and he put some fancy coating on the concrete floor, so it looks extra special!

The Shed

(aka The Man Cave)

Floor sealed. And a man's lunch for all his hard work!

The rain has hit us this week, so we've had an opportunity to see if the roof is going to present any leaks. So far it looks like we've been pretty lucky and things are sealed well. Always a worry when it comes to winter, but fingers crossed the guys have done as good a job as I think they did!

The husband and I took the 3 work days off between Easter and ANZAC Day this year, and took the opportunity to pop into the carpet store to firm up our selections. We had originally just had a $/sqm price quoted for finance purposes, so we made a firm selection. The store happens to be one I use a lot through my work, so they ended up doing us a fabulous deal.  We chose a product called "Softie" and my-oh-my it is just that!  It is honestly softest, snuggliest carpet I've ever felt! I cannot wait to get that laid in the house and lie all over it!!  And as an added bonus, its environmentally friendly:
"The Cinnamon range is the only carpet to be made from 100% recycled PET from soft drink bottles, even the soft backing is recycled PET."

Soft-E Carpet. It really does feel like a Teddy Bear!

So soft!

Next up should either be glazing in the windows or ceilings, depending on which way the builder programmes things. They have also told us that we should be looking to handover at roughly the end of June so we're probably less than 8 weeks out! Eeeeek!!!
